This bitesize book falls into two parts, starting with an introduction to Zen and a description of the way to get the best out of it. It gives a short history of the practice, which originated in Japan after adaptation from a Chinese philosophy, and shows how the benefits of Zen are just as relevant today.
It also includes a variety of easy-to-use meditations for relaxation, stress relief and enlightenment. The second half of the book features categories of Zen-type quotations on life, happiness, nature and more.
